Last day of CRHS

One word describes the last day of high school ( and thus the last day of KISD): anticlimactic. It was somewhat like a beheading; quick, straight to the point, and over before you even know what happened. There was no coming together or last sentimental moments or anything, my year ended with "Seniors may now be dismissed for graduation rehearsal". I think this ending quite accurately represented my year as a whole. This year year was quick, few good moments, and much dispersion. I was hoping this year would be one where everyone I knew would come closer together but, for the most part, the opposite occured. Though as odd as the social events were, I think I learned alot this year and kept all the closest ties I have.
Now at the end of high school, I feel like I want to hold all the memories I've accumulated over the years (as evidenced by my constant possesion of my camera), but as I move forward, many of these memories will fade away.  I will forget places, people, and events; and yet, even though I won't be able to recall the past, it is the past that has shaped me to who I am today.

csm 08

Well just got back from my second CSM trip. Lots have changed in four years since I last went with Danny in 7th grade, including the city and myself. I'll just hit the main parts of the trip. We started out splitting into groups and our group(Group 1), was to be separated from the others throughout the duration of the trip. Of course first instinct was to complain but being separated from everyone else turned out to be a major blessing. Group one was so shwet! So group one consisted of me, Shao, Ling, Shien, Jeremiah, Monica, Cindy, Kristen, and Diana with Cynthia as our counselor.  It was definitely the best combination of people to put together; we bonded so well that we almost became a cult (haha jk). Well from the beginning we got together really well and as we were going to the place Monica kept going "Let's play a game". So we ended up playing and failing (like all the other games group one played) concentration. And while we were playing we got rear ended after slamming on the brakes which made Cindy fly backwards out of her seat. The guy who rear ended us had a huge truck with a bumper guard but he was being super anal about the damage done to his car and how much he should pay. Nothing happened to his car but our van got dented and the handle broke off. Anyways we had to sit and wait for almost an hour before the guy gave up and we left. When we got there, we unloaded, met up with Paul (our super shwet CSM guide) and went to have Jamaican food. The Jamaican food was amazing and there was a guy there playing steel drums and i thought that that was the coolest thing ever. after that we went on prayer tour, which i was pretty much 3/4 asleep the whole time. We got bak played nerts, showered, and went to bed. The next morning about half the alarms went off wayy to early. Got up, got breakfast, and we(group one) left for Houston food bank. We attempted and failed(yet again) to play concentration. We got there and there really wasnt to much for us to do cuz there were alot of people and we worked really quickly, so we led everyone in games and messed around during idle time XD, and came up with the name team chiquita because of all the banana boxes there. After that, we got in the van and Monica wanted to be Shao so they switched and then everyone else ended up switching and the name game was born. We went back to the church for lunch and tottally confused everyone with our name thing. After lunch, we went to open door mission and we started out with moving a bunch of really really heavy stuff, but then we finished and went in to the cafeteria area and they had nothing for us to do so the guys dozed off or sat there looking stoned, while the girls took pics and did who knos what. then dinner and we worked a bit. I served with Ling first but then cynthia gave up her job and I took over. This is where I met Tom. Tom is an amazing guy and he has an amazing passion for God and we were talking so I asked him his story and he gave me his testimony. It was amazing so I asked him to repeat it and I recorded it. After that was dinner at the El Salvadorian place, the food was good and the habanero sauce caused alot of people to prove their stupidity(coughbothweibrotherscough). Went back, had a deep debriefing, took group pics, then we said our farewells to Paul. Then, since we returned earlier than the other groups, we had some group one game time. we played hydrogen bond and duck duck goose until someone spotted a spider and we freaked and went inside to play the sentence game. All I hafta say about that is Josh...is...bi and weishao...likes...girls...and...boys XD. then we played the night away wit h the other group in the common rm and ended with playing the sentence game which turned out pretty messed up again even with Jodi participating. went to bed, woke up, packed, went to St. John's. St. John's was amazing beyond belief:the music, the message, confession time, everything. Then we went home, stopping by burger king and having some last minute group one quality time.
Group one assemble!
